International Convention 2008

It was a joint convention held by The Latter Rain Church Malaysia & The Way Church, Singapore in Port Dickson last week, starting from 24th to 27th November. A different convention this year for me as I went there without my hubby dearest and also had to be away from my princess for a few days. I went there with sifu, Andrew Coomby, and his crew to setup the sound system on 24th morning. Things were alright when we did the sound check and all. Sifu then rushed back for his other appointments for the day, leaving me there in God's hands. So unfortunately, the system seem to be giving some unwanted humming sounds when the meeting started that night. I was on the line with Andrew half the sessions just trying to trouble shoot what went wrong. Well, to cut the long story short, we actually had to live with the hums every now and then. We tried every way to destroy it but nothing seem to work.

Thank God I had Joshua from Singapore and Gabriel to help me out here and there... Well, at least I don't feel alone riding on this troubled water! I honestly felt quite stress having to deal with this technical issues that is beyond my capabilities, more so alone... but God knows... He brought "angels" around me to help me as much as they possibly can. After that first night, I felt less stress. Stress only comes when the situation seem to go against me. Well, I wouldn't say that we have conquered the storm (technically) but I know to some extend, I conquered the situation - not allowing it to take over my emotions.

On the video side of things.... we had lesser video crew on board this round. So... yes, to cut another long story short, we were short-handed. But uncle made this "robotic tripod" so he could control one of the camera from a distance! What a brilliant guy! Olivia & Veron were crew this round too... I on the other hand was available to stand in for anything that needs my service, since Gabriel volunteered himself to be the sound guy! hehehe... So, yes... I was here and there - making sure that the recordings are done properly, tapes are changed, the audio levels are right, doing switching when uncle is busy answering some business calls, be the main camera-gal when Veron was on duty for switching on the 2nd day, sound engineer when Gabriel is busy taking photos, behind the mic when the singers went into the "tunnel", troubleshooting here and there whenever needed, etc etc... I think overall, it was fruitful for me when comes to service. Praise God that I can avail myself to do much for His glory! Well... post-production busy-ness after this!

The worship was great. Personally I felt "free" during the last night. Hmmm... I actually managed to loosen myself up and jumping up and down like a young gal (yeah, i know i'm not that lightweight now but somehow I felt light then! hehehe...) Also, a note of thanks to Caleb & Debbie for coming back from Oz and leading in worship. We've not had such worship for a very long time and we knew something was broken loose during the convention. God bless them! :)

Hmmm... no pix taken during the convention. We had many other photographers then. I had my camera but it was in my luggage bag from day1 and never been brought out. :p
I played around a little with Gabriel's SONY DSLR, but it was only for a short moment. I guess my focus was on other things... Well, we'll see if I can get some copyrights to some pix from Gabriel later! :)

OK... so there goes my report on convention. Needless to say... I missed hubby and princess a lot in those few days. However, I managed to catch up with some other members during my stay and a great fellowship with Steph too during my way back to PJ. It's been a long time since I really had that. Well, once awhile we need to give time to the people around us and do some catching up of each other's lives in the midst of our busy-ness... with our family/work/ministry. All in all, YES - I was Blessed! :)

p/s - thanks Dan & Marilyn for your prayers! :)

It's my church Convention this week...

Yeah, it's been 3 days now since my "first physical separation" with little Sarah. :(

My church convention in Port Dickson started on Monday, and will last through till Thursday... (yeah, that's why you've seen less of me these few days... err... blogging and online i mean... :))

The story was... Hubby will not be attending the convention this year. I, on the other hand, will be attending, also due to some duties that I need to carry out. I was intending to bring little Sarah with me and have my mum take care of her, but later on felt mum may not be able to handle as she has never really taken care of girl fulltime... and what would happen if I'm not available for girl as I may get too busy with my duties. I know I would be missing her so very much, yet I also know that it would be worst if I had missed taking care of her well being in my busy-ness. I felt then that that's the best decision I could make for now.

This morning hubby called me. I'm glad to hear his voice and glad to also know that little Sarah's fine. She did not look for me during her day time activities... even when daddy comes home from work alone. It was only when comes to sleeping time that she started looking for me. She's pretty much attach to me during the night. Recently, we practise going up to bed at the time WE want and if she's not yet sleepy, we will let her play by herself in the room until she's tired (most times, it's about after half an hour or so). That method seemed to work for the past one week. Hubby decided to continue that same method while I was away in PD. I heard that it didn't work this round for the past two nights. Instead, she kept looking at the very spot I sleep, looking for mummy. She cried when she didn't see me. Hubby carried her up and again, she kept turning to the bed... but no, mummy was no where near her. My heart melted when I heard that. O, I miss her so...

So many uncles & aunties asking where's my little girl. Some from other branches were hoping to see her too but every question is answered with me saying how much I missed her.

Well, time flies... it's already the last night and tomorrow, I will see hubby dearest and little princess again. Can't wait for that moment to come... I will surely hug her, kiss her, squeeze her when I see her...

So that's all from me for now...

An afternoon in GT...

It was close to 3pm (yesterday afternoon) when AndrewC asked if i was available to visit GT (Glad Tidings) to have a look at their system, since he was planning to go there to setup the room EQ for them. At first i told him that i wasnt available - that i had work to do. But work never ends anyway... and this opportunity doesnt just come. And i recalled what Silas told me earlier in the week to seize any opportunity given - be exposed & be smart! (Yeah... in case some of u dont already know, i'm like "katak di bawah tempurung" - the "katak" is me and the "tempurung" is the 4 corners of my workstation. *shy*) With this reminder, i immediately told Andrew that i could make it. It'll only be about an hour or so anyway... :)

And so... i was there with Andrew and I was then introduced to Danny who is a fulltime in GT doing sound. They did the sound check, etc, and there i was taking pictures here and there and "trying" to learn whatever i can... actually am just observing, but one thing's for sure... i love to see how neat the hall is - both behind the sound booth and on the stage. I was looking around... and telling myself... we need to get our butt working and tidy up the church and some other systems!

Well... we did some things together in the worship team... and that was a start! Thanks AndrewC for your time and efforts. Things are slowly coming together - in placed and more systematic. You can read and view some pictures here & here & here. Thanks DanLion for keeping us up-to-date in your blog. :)

Below are the pictures of GT - may it be a motivation to us as church and as crew (Yes! LRM crew - i know u guys are reading this. hehe...)

Can you see how neat their cables were labeled? That was AndrewC's pro-team's work. That's what i call quality & professionalism!
Also... no cables lying on the floor... no cables tangled here n there...
Thanks AndrewC for inviting me over... :)

Giving God our ALL!

Praise the Lord for a great time of worship rehearsal last night! It's been quite some time since we really enjoyed playing and singing together... after a while, it sorta became a "duty" or a "routine". Sadly to say, but it's true... Bad! Bad! Bad girls & boys - not focusing on our God!

One thing that came back to me last night was to give God our all. Worship Him and serve Him with ALL of our strength, heart, mind! Besides having a better sound system (you can read more in Daniel's blog), we pray that all of us would serve with the right spirit, and as we do it together, we can touch heavens and change the earth!

Thank God for bringing us people like AndrewC to help us with the system setup. It's about time! Hehehe!!! With that, we know we are improving ourselves and upgrading our music. Next round will be the lightings, video, graphics, etc... woo-hoo!!! :D

10 Tributes by Ps Dexter to all fathers...

Fathers in our church being prayed for by Elijah Low

I know many of us were pretty occupied with our children, taking pictures to capture the moments, etc... and perhaps unable to pay much attention to what was shared by Elijah on Fathers' Day. Ps Dexter was away to preach in another church, so the tributes were shared on his behalf by his son, Elijah. Here's something i got so that we all can share the joy of knowing what our beloved Pastor has written for each and every fathers we know.

Today we pay tribute to all fathers in our midst...

1. For your willingness to labour in order to provide food, shelter, education and many other needs of your family, for this we honour you.

2. For being true and faithful to the children's mother, this means everything to them.

3. For living a life that is godly, for loving God and willingness to serve Him. In so doing, you have given us a model to follow that would result in God's blessings in our lives.

4. For spending time with the children, playing with them, taking care of their every need and being available for them.

5. For having your family's interests in your heart and concern whenever you have to choose your career, transfer or further training.

6. For your willingness to forgo many things including hobbies, promotions and numerous opportunities to climb the ladder, for the sake of your children so that you were able to be with them.

7. For your willingness to guide and lead your children to their God-assigned destiny and to provide all you can to see that they realise their dreams and visions.

8. For imparting love, godly values and anointing to your children.

9. For shaping the lives, character and mindset of your children in Christ's image.

10. For laying the right foundation for your children so that they would be raised to be great and successful men & women of God.
