Little Sarah's Milestone: 13 to 15 months

Today, our little princess has turned 16 months old!
Here's a summary about Sarah's achievement to date:

1. She points to herself and has learned to say her own name, "Weh-wah"
2. She learned lots of new words everyday (i totally lost count of it already!). Besides English, she learns Mandarin and a little bit of bahasa as well. Last night when we're about to sleep, she actually stroke my hair and said, "Sayang..." :)
3. She learns 3-syllables words like butterfly, crocodile, handkerchief, etc... Her "butterfly" comes with an action as well... ie she'll make hand signs of a butterfly with one wing! Cute... :)
4. She understands "yes" and "no" quite certainly. She would even reply to us with a certain "Yes" and "No" with confidence when she wants something or not.
5. Up to date, she has 10 teeth - 4 central incisors, 4 lateral incisors & 2 first molars.
6. She rode her car with confidence... sometimes just a little "too" confident!
7. In the past 2-3 months, she started to enjoy "climbing". Actually, she's been climbing chairs and low shelves for quite some time... and perhaps mastered that skill already. Recently, we saw her placing her foot to a 2 feet high shelf and pulling her whole body weight up to grab things on a 4 feet high shelf. She fell before in her attempts to climb up but that didn't stop her from doing it again. Well, more shouting and "rotan" along the way...
8. She loves soup. Everytime when there's soup served on the table, she would request for it.
9. She tried wearing her own pants before... but at the moment, she definitely still needs help from mummy :)
10. She loves singing... and dancing. Songs she sings don't make sense at all to us adults but we knew which song she sang at times. For eg. she would sing some "words" and at the end of the line, she would say "Woaw woaw". So... guess what song is that? Hehehe... Yes, she was trying to sing "How much is that doggy at the window?"
11. She likes building from legos and blocks, but prefers to destroy them after that!
12. She loves pretending to read... ha ha ha!

Little Sarah's Milestone: 12 to 13months

It's been about 6 weeks since I last updated about Sarah's milestones. Thank God for a healthy growth upon dear Sarah. She's learning new things, exploring new grounds & truly, bringing joy to our hearts! Now, let's see....

At Month 12 - 13:

New vocabulary:
1. "Two" and sometimes pronounced it as "tiu"
2. "Three" or "tii"
3. "No, no, no, no...." (nice tune at the end of it... hehe...)
4. "Mmmm..." (she not only utter this, but she understands that this word/sound means "nice". She first imitated me saying this when i first gave her a spoonful of cod-liver-oil. Ever since then, she will say the same everytime it's "Scott's Emulsion time"! or when something taste/feels nice!)
5. "Nose" (pointing to her nose...)
6. "Eye" (pointing to her nose... :p)
7. "Mouth" (pointing to her nose... :p) LOL!
8. "No more...."
9. "Walk walk"
10. "Night night" - we wish each other "night night" every night (even to both Mashi mashi & giraffe!)

New actions:
1. She holds out arm or leg to help me dress her. She stands, place her hands on my arms to support herself as I let her wear her pants.
2. She understands her body parts, eg. tongue, neck, leg, hands. When you ask her, "Where is ....?", she will show it to you.
3. She says "chou-chou" (means smelly in mandarin), and this time, she did not poo yet but she will walk to me, indicating wanting to go to the toilet. We went to the toilet... she attempted sitting on adult toilet bowl... (need to really watch her). I brought her potty in, she sat on it, & a second later, stand (she does this few times). I gave up... put on her diaper again... minutes later, she poo-poo in her diaper! :p (OK... OK... it's potty training time! Hehehe...)
4. Twinkle twinkle little star (imitate Pek-Pek)
5. Imitate singing (whenever I sing, she sings...)
6. Err... imitate this & that.... :p
Actually... the list of things she does goes on & on & on... she's truly an imitator of both actions & words (like a parrot!). A pretty fast learner i'd say! God bless little Sarah! :)

Little Sarah's Milestone: 10 to 12 months

It was between the 10th month and the 12th month (yeah, she's gonna be 1 year old pretty soon! :))... I cant really recall when all these happened exactly as time truly flies before our very eyes! I thank the Lord for His blessings of divine health, protection, knowledge and wisdom upon our little princess.

At Month 10 - 12:
She runs! (oh boy... at this stage, we really had to "catch her if we can"!) And yes, she loves playing catching!

Her vocabulary increases... (oh, she's bilingual by the way! :)) Let's see...
1. "chou-chou" (means smelly in mandarin), ie she will utter these every time she poos.
2. "nen-nen" (means milk in mandarin) when she's hungry.
2. "throw" and she then throws whatever in her hand.
3. "socks" whenever she sees a pair of socks. If she's holding a sock in her hand, she will place it near her foot. If she sees daddy wearing his socks, she will utter that word too!
4. "hallelujah"... she learned this word during one of our cell group prayer meeting time, when daddy kept saying "hallelujah", and suddenly we heard at the background, one little girl uttered "hallelujah" too! That was really really cute! :)
5. "k,k,k,k".... LOL! She will say this after mummy says "OK, OK, OK, OK" to her... :)
6. "star"
7. "duck"
8. "frog"
9. "car"
10."cat"
11. "dog"
12. "ahhhhhhhh" after drinking...
13... hmm... cant recall for now (will update later :p)
ok... some additional stuff after reading the comments... :p
so...
13. "na na"... that means "Mummy"... we're still trying very hard to convince her to call me "Mummy" & not "Na Na"... sometimes "Na Ma"... and also "Ma Na" :p
14. "nen nen ah???" Whenever it's feeding time, i will ask her, "You want nen nen ah???"... and she will copy me, "Nen nen ah???"... and we kept repeating these until she gets her bottle! :p
15. "ak ak"... that means "hug hug". She learned these words earlier on when we got her to hug "Mashi Mashi" every night during bedtime.
16. "ta ta" (means beat in mandarin), so whenever she misbehave, we will tell her "ta ta"... oh yes, since she's an absorber-of-anything-and-everything, she will utter these words too.
17. "oh oi"... that means "sleep"... i think this is a chinese baby lingo.

And some actions...
1. When she coughs or when she hears someone coughs, she will pat her chest.
2. When her stomach's filled, and when we ask her "na ni pao-pao?" (direct translation: where full-full?"), she will pat her belly.
3. When her food is finished, she will show her hand gesture saying "No more".
4. She claps her hand after each song we sing to her, and says "Yeahhhhh!" This happens mainly in the car while we were trying to distract her from crying! Hehehe... Praise God it works! :)
5. She claps her hand after each "achievement" Hehehe... that means, whenever she's able to follow daddy or mummy in her daily development (i would say... this is a "mental development")
6. She waves byebye to everyone downstairs while on the way upstairs for bedtime.
7. She waves byebye and carries a bag (dont exactly know which bag or where she gets it from) and head to the gate.
8. She stands on top of her toy car and balance herself (daddy says like "Mat Rempit"!) and claps her hands! (oh boy... we tried to stop her from doing this stunt, but sometimes she's just too fast!)
9. Whenever mummy or nai-nai prepares her milk, she will stand nearby waiting for it... for me, I will pass the bottle to her (she will feel a sense of independence... i believe! hehehe...) and she will walk to the mattress in the living room, look for a pillow and lie on it (this part needs some help from mummy, else she will lie face down! LOL!) and drink from her bottle. Last weekend, daddy saw her looking for her hanky as well before walking to the mattress!
10. Play hard to get (as what "Great-grandma" Sheela always calls her... a new name given too! "Hard-to-get-babe"! :))
11. When we ask her, "Where pain-pain?", she will reply by patting her head. The funny thing is every time she knocks any part of her body (cheek, hand, leg, etc...) to something, she will pat her head to tell us it is painful. Hahaha!
12. She pats Ivan kor-kor to sleep! LOL! That's what nai-nai does everyday, so yes... Sarah's learning to pat her kor-kor to sleep too! :)
13. We play "1-2-3" game with her every night when we reach home. We'll say "1-2..." and at "3", both her head & ours will knock each other!
14. She responds to instructions like "Give me a kiss...", "Give me a hug...", etc...

At this age, she seems to clearly understand what we say to her or what she's needed to do at a certain time. She's even trying to communicate her wants to us! This stage of growth is rather interesting for me and daddy as we both learned that doing what is right is so important (especially in front of her) because she totally copies almost everything she sees! I'm amazed at the rate she is going and I thank God for developing her well in her days! God bless little Sarah!

She stands without support for a few seconds.
She cuts her first tooth... well, actually her 2 bottom front teeth! They grew at the same time! :)
She starts taking "ownership" of the things around her. Well, yes, she did snatch things from her cheh-cheh and kor-kor too!

At Month 7:
She climbs up the stairs... (but no, we don't encourage that for now)
She stands without support for a longer period (didn't count the seconds but long enough to capture the moment.! :))

She searches for hidden objects (& human)
She experience separation anxiety
She learns gravity... that everything that goes up, must come down! Hehehe....
She stands up and squats down, stands up and squats down... (building her knee muscles i think... :p)

She takes a toy phone and puts it near her ear and says "Eh?" (Again, she was imitating me, except that I said "Hello" not "Eh?" :p)
She starts sucking from a straw
5th & 6th tooth (top) appeared! Haha... a sudden discovery for me! :)
New words - "daddy"... but not sure if she meant "daddy"... :p, "ahm!"... when she sees food, "unn!", "ah chiak!"... when playing peek-a-boo!

She puts almost anything she grabs into her mouth.
She responds to smiles and talks and songs (it started earlier when she was 2 months old but it gets more & more each day!)

She loves to make bubbles!

At Month 4:
She crawls backwards (like a worm reversing!)
She "lifts her butt up longer" (in a crawling position, but not crawling yet)
