[+Video] Day-to-day development (at Month 3+)

Here's sharing some new development of baby Sarah for the past weeks....
She has indeed grown so so much... that i almost lost track of what she did and when.... because it happens just so fast! And in no time, she'll start crawling and walking and running and, and, and...!!!!

What she has learned the past 1-2 weeks:-

- holding her milk bottle up

- pulling mummy's, cheh-cheh's & aunties' hair (those with long hair)...

- she grabs things quite firmly with her hands... toys, clothes & her sarong (when we carry her up)

- respond to smiles & talks & songs (it gets more & more each day! started earlier during her 2nd month, but this time, she's even more responsive... i guess she will be a people-person when she grows up! :))

- roll her body over (she loves doing that if she's placed on her back... she'll then roll herself so that she's always on her tummy... and she'll be looking around with her head up! she'll do the same when she's on the bouncing net or sarong... so dangerous!!!) Here's a short clip...

... and that's why we have to have an eye on her at all times. Last Saturday, i left her to lie down on a big pillow... i went to the kitchen to wash some stuff and boil water... i came out to the living room, and there she was lying on the floor (on her back)... yup! u guessed it right! she rolled herself down the pillow and landed on the floor! She wasn't crying... instead she was still sucking her thumb (or hand)! Iyoh! This gal! I was shocked when i saw that... she looked just so cute and cool! Hahaha!

Giving God our ALL!

Praise the Lord for a great time of worship rehearsal last night! It's been quite some time since we really enjoyed playing and singing together... after a while, it sorta became a "duty" or a "routine". Sadly to say, but it's true... Bad! Bad! Bad girls & boys - not focusing on our God!

One thing that came back to me last night was to give God our all. Worship Him and serve Him with ALL of our strength, heart, mind! Besides having a better sound system (you can read more in Daniel's blog), we pray that all of us would serve with the right spirit, and as we do it together, we can touch heavens and change the earth!

Thank God for bringing us people like AndrewC to help us with the system setup. It's about time! Hehehe!!! With that, we know we are improving ourselves and upgrading our music. Next round will be the lightings, video, graphics, etc... woo-hoo!!! :D

Field Trip - MIS

After church service last Sunday, my family & the Chiews headed to MIS (Melaka International School) for a field trip. Had a simple lunch there and thereafter went around the school - checking out the different classes and co-curricular activities offered in this one and only international school in Melaka.

My bro is a legal adviser for the school and there were some issues to deal with with regards to the Melaka government wanting to acquire a part of the school land to build some roads... MIS was owned by the government in the earlier days but they did not do well, so they open it up to those who are interested to buy shares. After a while, Dr Mohamed Ishak & his wife, Mrs Shamsunnisa Ishak (the Chief Executive) bought over MIS and took full ownership of the school. MIS started out as a small school but now, Dr Ishak & wife bought a piece of land, build a huge school and develop a plantation to further educate the importance of going green. They successfully developed MIS but seems to us that the government is not too happy about that! Anyhow, the family were there to kill 2 birds with a stone, for the legal matter as well as to just stick our noses in to know more about this school and its going-ons (established since 1993).

Mrs Shamsunnisa brought us (together with some other unfamiliar faces) around the school. Then, Mr ... (a Chinese uncle :p), whom i guess is the farming fertilizer's expert brought us to the field and their botanical garden, telling us the different plants and its health function and also the process of making fertilizers! Very very smelly indeed! hahaha!

Paul & his good buddy Joseph were at their playful selves. So as what most boys would do, they were running here and there, getting themselves all sweat and smelly and having a jolly good time together. Baby Sarah on the other hand was sleeping half the time.

This plant on the left promotes healing for diabetes!

[Knowledge: Baby] ECB6: FEEDING AND NUTRITION – Bottlefeeding Tips

Bottlefeeding is straightforward, but you will need to make sure that your baby is swallowing properly, and that he is not taking in air with the milk.

  1. Never leave your baby with the bottle popped up on a pillow or cushion; it can be dangerous. He could become very uncomfortable if he swallows a lot of air with the feed, and he could choke

  2. Tilt your baby on your arm. It is very difficult for your baby to swallow when he is lying flat so don’t feed him in this position; he may gag or even be sick

  3. If your baby has a blocked nose, he cant swallow and breathe at the same time. Your doctor can give you nose drops to be used before each feed

  4. Your baby knows when he’s had enough, so don’t try to force him to finish the bottle after he has stopped sucking. He may posset the excess which he didn’t require.

[T.G.I.F] Significance

Psalms 90:17

May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us- yes, establish the work of our hands.

Many of us begin our careers with the goal of achieving success. If we haven't entered our work as a result of God's calling, we will eventually face a chasm of deep frustration and emptiness. Success flatters but does not provide a lasting sense of purpose and fulfillment. So often we enter careers with wrong motives-money, prestige, and even pressure from parents or peers. Failing to match our work with our giftedness and calling is like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. If that happens over an extended period, a person crashes.

At this time, many make another mistake. Businesspeople think that beginning a new career in "full-time Christian work" will fill the emptiness they feel. However, this only exacerbates the problem because they are again trying to put another square peg into a round hole. The problem is not whether we should be in "Christian work" or "secular work," but rather what work is inspired by gifts and calling. If there is one phrase I wish I could remove from the English language it is "full-time Christian work." If you are a Christian, you are in full-time Christian work, whether you are driving nails or preaching the gospel. The question must be, are you achieving the God-given calling for your life? God has called people into business to fulfill His purposes just as much as He has called people to be pastors or missionaries.

It is time for businesspeople to stop feeling like second-class citizens for being in business. It is time businesspeople stop working toward financial independence so that they can concentrate on their "true spiritual calling." This is the great deception for those called to business.

Significance comes from fulfilling the God-given purpose for which you were made. Ask Him to confirm this in your own life.

A weekend in Melaka...

The last time we were in Melaka was about a month and a half. Baby Sarah has grown since then! Bigger of course... and more "playable"! Hehehe...
She was at her normal self - crying when hungry, crying when sleepy, "talking" away and then get cranky the next minute.... this gal! :)

Had a great time in Melaka... catching up with things with everyone... and had a family photo taken at home... been quite a while since the last family pic was taken! hehe...

Everyone's smiling... baby Sarah was cooperating with the wait-test-wait-test-ready-set-go process of taking a photo with the help of a tripod, but Paul's not lookin' at the camera! hehe...

Alright! Everyone's posing for the camera, but baby Sarah's getting a lil' cranky! hehe...

Thanks to our God for a safe journey back and forth and for bringing the family together.
Thanks to mummy for the yummy durians! kekeke... :D
Thanks to J for the dinner before our journey back to Kajang! Silas finally gotten his craved "mamak mee"!
Thanks to koko for dinner in Cheng's! And for bringing us for a field-trip to Melaka International School.
Thanks to ah soh (kekeke...) for playing and talking with baby Sarah. She'll remember! :)
Thanks to Paul-Paul for lending us the Sarong for baby Sarah. kekeke... and for being a good koko to baby. He actually digged out some toys from his toy box to play with baby Sarah. hehehe...
and Sarah says thank u-goo-goo-gaa-gaa to everyone for carrying me and playing with me. It was fun-fun-fun! :D
and finally thanks to dear for driving up & down in your most tired self + becoming a song leader (hehehe...) in the car throughout our journey to and fro. Awesome time together with the Lord! :)

But yep! That's MIL in action - the supermom we all know from my previous post! :)

Baby Sarah crying a lot lately...

Baby Sarah's been crying a lot again lately... she may have forgotten the "deal" we made. Three months has passed but looks like she's still rather colicky, esp at night. Past few days was tiring for us parents and grandparents too. She'll cry till she gets tired and eventually sleeps at about 1am or later.

Drinking milk was also not as easy as when she was 1-2 months old. Again, she'll be crying her lungs out just before any feeds... nap time, and sleeping time. We really do not know what's happening to her.

Praying that she'll come out of this stage real soon. Apparently she prefers to be breastfed. I guess most babies do. She'll be totally quiet and smiling when i give a direct feed to her at night. That would also calm her down.

Monthly baby checkup & jab...

Last night was baby Sarah's 3rd month jab. It's her 2nd triple polio jab.
The family went to the clinic with bro CK & family as it was Reanne's 3rd triple polio jab as well.

While waiting for her turn, baby Sarah was fast asleep... we then woke her up for her jab. Poor girl...

Baby Sarah is a REAL Jusco Kid!

The family went to Jusco last Saturday to seize 2nd last day of Jusco sale... (actually no need to seize opportunity la... cuz Jusco always have sales anyway! :p)
We went to Jusco Equine. Bought some stuff, and finally before headed on to the Supermarket, we stopped to have a quick bite in the food court.
And guess what?!... baby Sarah slept all the way during our shopping time, and when we're having our dinner, she woke up but didnt make a single fuss! Good girl! She's truly a Jusco kid! :)

Here's baby Sarah playing with her red bear-bear and me posing while eating my "nasi goreng ayam sweet & sour"

A warm fellowship after Cell Meeting...

It was on 13th June... the "formal" meeting was over... and so did the "makan" time... thus, the "clean-looking" dining table... and of course the sleepy look on some faces. :)

Baby Sarah sleeping on daddy's leg! Hahaha! She cried a little... I went to prepare her milk in the kitchen, and when it was ready, she was fast asleep! :)

This is for Uncle Lion... kakaka...

A tribute to Uncle Lion for carrying me always & loving me... kakaka...

Where's aunty lion?! :D

Girls Talk?!

goo-goo gaa-gaa...

[Knowledge: Baby] ECB5: FEEDING AND NUTRITION – Expressing Milk

Expressed milk can be easily stored either in the refrigerator or in the freezer. Refrigerated milk will keep for 48 hours; frozen milk for up to 6 months.

Note: Be relaxed! If the milk won’t start to flow, place a warm flannel over your breasts to open the ducts, or try expressing in the bath (ie warm bath)

[Knowledge: Baby] ECB4: FEEDING AND NUTRITION – How Long on Each Breast?

You should keep your baby on the breast for as long as he shows interest in sucking.

  1. If your baby continues to suck after your breasts have emptied, it may be that he is just enjoying the sensation; this is fine if it’s not making your breasts sore.

Comfort sucking – Most babies enjoy sucking on their mothers’ breasts for its own sake just as much as feeding. You will learn to tell the difference between actual feeding and comfort sucking

  1. When your baby has finished feeding from one breast, gently take him off your nipple and put him on to the other breast. He may not suck for so long on the second breast

  2. Alternate the first breast you offer at each feed

Note: Encourage intimacy by talking or singing to your baby while breastfeeding.

and i heard someone said...

..."Good thing i'm not a father... else, who's doing the switching?!"
Ho ho ho... guess who???!! :)

Blessed Father's Day!

Blessed Father's Day to you, dear!
Thank you for loving us both...

Love,
baby Sarah & mummy Rachel

"Limbo Rock" by Chubby Checker

This is one of Sarah's favourite tune! Hahahaha :D

I managed to catch her giggling when i sang this tune to her last Saturday...

Every limbo boy and girl
All around the limbo world
Gonna do the limbo rock
All around the limbo clock
Jack be limbo, Jack be quick
Jack go unda limbo stick
All around the limbo clock
Hey, let's do the limbo rock

Limbo lower now
Limbo lower now
How low can you go

First you spread your limbo feet
Then you move to limbo beat
Limbo ankolimboneee,
Bend back like a limbo tree
Jack be limbo, Jack be quick
Jack go unda limbo stick
All around the limbo clock
Hey, let's do the limbo rock

la la la etc (instead of instrumental break)

Get yourself a limbo girl
Give that chic a limbo whirl
There's a limbo moon above
You will fall in limbo love
Jack be limbo, Jack be quick
Jack go unda limbo stick
All around the limbo clock
Hey, let's do the limbo rock

Don't move that limbo bar
You'll be a limbo star
How low can you go

"Bian zui"... "Pin zui"... "Cemet"...

Hehehe... i'm a naughty mummy, aint i?!

But this look of hers is so irresistible! hehehe... i said i'm gonna attempt to take this sad looking face... and i got it at last! hehehe...

Every time she makes that face, it would just melt mummy's heart... and of course it makes mummy laugh! :D

O Sarah, you're such a darling!

10 Tributes by Ps Dexter to all fathers...

Fathers in our church being prayed for by Elijah Low

I know many of us were pretty occupied with our children, taking pictures to capture the moments, etc... and perhaps unable to pay much attention to what was shared by Elijah on Fathers' Day. Ps Dexter was away to preach in another church, so the tributes were shared on his behalf by his son, Elijah. Here's something i got so that we all can share the joy of knowing what our beloved Pastor has written for each and every fathers we know.

Today we pay tribute to all fathers in our midst...

1. For your willingness to labour in order to provide food, shelter, education and many other needs of your family, for this we honour you.

2. For being true and faithful to the children's mother, this means everything to them.

3. For living a life that is godly, for loving God and willingness to serve Him. In so doing, you have given us a model to follow that would result in God's blessings in our lives.

4. For spending time with the children, playing with them, taking care of their every need and being available for them.

5. For having your family's interests in your heart and concern whenever you have to choose your career, transfer or further training.

6. For your willingness to forgo many things including hobbies, promotions and numerous opportunities to climb the ladder, for the sake of your children so that you were able to be with them.

7. For your willingness to guide and lead your children to their God-assigned destiny and to provide all you can to see that they realise their dreams and visions.

8. For imparting love, godly values and anointing to your children.

9. For shaping the lives, character and mindset of your children in Christ's image.

10. For laying the right foundation for your children so that they would be raised to be great and successful men & women of God.

Flashcard!

Daddy playing flashcard with baby

Numbers & Words learning pack from "Universe of Imagination", purchased from Toys 'R' Us

Almost every night when hubby and i are back from work, we try to make it our daily routine (about 10-15 minutes) to spend time with baby Sarah using flashcard. She's pretty excited everytime we have flashcard times. I guess her brains are developing as much as her physical movements. Hehehe...

Thanks to CK and SP for the gift! It's really a good start of learning for our little one. For those who are thinking of buying flashcards to aid your young ones' learning ability, you can purchase these from Toys 'R' Us for RM32.95. I saw a few other kinds in bookshops like Popular, MPH, etc... Happy hunting & flashing! :D

A new discovery: Wanna fist fight? Kakakaka...

taken with flash.... no choice! she moves too much! kekeke...
watcha lookin' at???!!!

wanna fight???!!!
Well... not a fight actually, but it looks like one... :D
Another new discovery for baby Sarah... her hands! She's been trying to discover what's behind the mittens she's been wearing, but she's got long and sharp nails... a little tricky for hubby & i to look for the best time to cut her nails too... anyway, nai nai did it this time! kekeke... we did it before too, but babies nails grow fast... really fast, and so by the time we take out her mittens for her to explore, she'll be scratching her face! *ouch*

It's been about 3 weeks since the first time she "noticed" her hands... and just about this week, she's been getting more adventurous! She would grab daddy's fingers tightly and not wanting to let go until she gets bored of it! hahaha... (joking!)

Being a mummy, and watching my little girl grow up and discover many things slowly but surely is truly an amazing experience. There will be so much more in life that she will be discovering. Little discoveries everyday makes all the difference in her little world... and i'm so glad to be a part of that little world which sooner or later will not be so little anymore.

"Daddy & mummy will always be with you, dear Sarah. With our Lord Jesus guidance, we will teach you the ways of the Lord. There are just sooooo many things to show you... to teach you... to guide you... Grow up and enjoy your discoveries because they are God-given!"

Hubby always says he cant wait for baby Sarah
Publish Post
to grow up because he's got lots to pass down! God bless you, Silas dear! :)

Baby Sarah playing on her own...

Baby Sarah with some of her rattling toys. Her favourite is the red bear... :)

Baby Sarah on the move! Something that caught her attention is little brown rattling bear!

It's such a joy to see how much she has developed - physically & mentally. Baby Sarah has learnt the ability to play on her own! Praise God! :) Even though she might get pretty "bored" after some good 20-30 minutes, but that alone is truly an achievement! Her minutes of independence increase each time daddy & i add "new toy" to her playgym. hehehe... When she gets bored with the old one, the new one will keep her occupied for some time.... and we'll keep changing the toy and rotate it to keep her busy. Such unspeakable joy to watch her grow little by little everyday... :)

p/s - see how much toys accumulated above her?! hehehe...

Missing mum at home...

Being at home with baby reminds me of the days of confinement. Hehe... when Mum was around here with us as well. Missing Mum's fellowship and the confinement food liao... chicken cooked with ginger, pig stomach soup :p, lotsa fish, etc etc.. hmmm... now, my kitchen seems "unused"... well, not really... just hardly used... the good part about it is it's not as oily as 3 months ago! :p

During the one month together, Mum & i watch Martha Steward's show in the mornings and many many Hokkien shows after 4pm. hehe... last week, i called her and ask her about one of the many Hokkien shows. Been missing many episodes of it and needed to "catch up"! hehehe...

A Fruitful Day...

It's 11.30am on a beautiful sunny Friday.

When baby Sarah sleeps (in the morning), I would normally sleep with her until about 9 or 10, or if i'm awake, i would probably start my day off blogging and facebook-ing and surfing.... :p

Woke up at 5.30am this morning to feed baby Sarah.... and i've been up since then. She didnt sleep too until about 7+. That's when i decided to give her an early bath. After that, she slept right through from 8am until now.

Well, i decided to put aside internet for awhile and did some housechores. I swept the floor, mop the floor, did some laundry, put some pillows to "sun-clean"... (kekeke), motherhood stuff like washing and sterilizing bottles, fold some clothes, tidy up Sarah's toyogo box of clothes, did manicure... (kekeke), had milo + donut for breakfast.... and now - blogging!

Thank You, Jesus for a fruitful day! :)

[+video] A movie starring Sarah Chong... Part 2

Another video taken on the same day...
After her chit-chat with Yeh Yeh, she started getting restless and cried... Yeh Yeh had to carry her up because she was loud! :p
She loves to "bian zui" or "cemet" (i think this is peranakan language.... i really cant tell :p)... hmmm... dont know how to say... like making a sad face.
She does that soooo much and soooo cutely that i've been wanting to take a photo and video of that, but everytime i do that, she'd stop crying & she'd stop making that cute sad face. But I wont give up! Will attempt to do it again whenever i have the chance.... kekeke...

p/s - Mr Ironman has requested that his video be taken out... and so, this is the edited version.

[+video] A movie starring Sarah Chong...

On a typical Sunday night... baby Sarah is in her talkative mode again...
This video... starring Sarah Chong, with Yeh Yeh's voice (kakaka), and featuring Mum-in-law's resting time & Mr Ironman!!! :D

Thank U, CK, for lending me your cam! :)

Saving money? Eating healthy? On a diet?

Breakfast would be different from now onward...

Yep... expenses have gone up. A plate of nasi goreng/mi goreng/bihun goreng/nasi lemak + egg has gone up from RM1.50 to RM1.80 per plate (before fuel price hike)... i think now should be RM2. Roti canai has gone up at least 10 cents too. Milo kosong has gone up as well... cant remember the earlier price but it's already RM1.80 now in Kanna Curry!!!

oh.... boy! Expenses has really gone up. So hubby and I decided to eat in my office pantry. We'll "create" one! hahaha! Eating along the way is too early for breakfast (6.30am) and we'll get hungry by 10am. So... best solution is to reach office early and have breakfast then. :) So... starting today, we have our good ol hot coffee (for hubby) and hot milk (for me), and some biscuits and bread. Will think of other stuff to make it a variety everyday. Hubby likes these kinda stuff (the simple bread/biscuit/hot coffee set menu :p)... but as for me, i'll bring the tuna, mushroom soup, baked beans, etc etc... Am planning to have those for lunch as well. Yogurt and some fruits are already waiting for me for lunch... so... this is breakfast and lunch plan for me!!! It's healthy, and it saves money!

Saving money? Eating healthy? On a diet? YES to all 3!!! Muaahahahahaha!!! :D

Time has definitely changed....

Sob sob...

I was going through my previous blogsite at multiply this morning.... was looking for something which i posted earlier. Lo and behold.... as i read my posts, i realized just how much i have changed - the way i write, the way i do things, the way i think - about work, about family, about responsibilities, the priorities i put in life, etc etc...

I started blogging since December 2004.... it's already June 2008. *WOW* Time flies indeed and it has definitely change a person.... me, for example. Hmmm... i have actually grew more complex in the way i think and the way i write. As i was reading my posts in multiply, i was laughing to myself. Some are pretty funny and "transparent".

I didnt know i had changed so much now, but the question is... have i changed to the better? or the worst? Hmmm... i cant really give an answer to that but for sure... I have changed. Perhaps i have grown older... I've matured... I've seeeeeeeen the world.... in many more perspectives. kakakaka (just trying to console meself!)

Daniel said to me this morning, "Time has changed... U r a mummy now... so priorities has changed..."Well, Daniel, you're so right. I'm a mummy now, and a mummy's priorities & responsibilities are different. I'm just going through a different phase in life.

Bloggers & readers, if you're reading this.... just one reminder though. One thing that's never change, ie GOD. I have indeed changed from day to day, but God's love remains. His thoughts about you and me remain the same. I spent more time with Him back then... but... but... but now... my previous posts hit me so hard with a reminder that spending time with God the Father makes all the difference. We just have to make time for Him. Even though our priorities have changed, the first and foremost should always remain - GOD!

Lord, forgive me for being careless in my walk with You. I get so busy at times and literally forget the reason I live... and that is to worship You. O Lord, I invite You into my life once again. Come, and have fellowship with me. Amen!

How To Change Our Ways???

Read this from my bro's blog and i find this hilarious but so true...

An average income of each family is RM3,000.00. That depends on whether one is working and the other is not OR a combine salary of all both husband and wife of RM3,000.00.

"Okay, let's start rolling with a family which has
Papa, Mama, 1 daughter and 1 son. Ngam-ngam ....

Calculation starts...

Electricity and water bill: RM100 (not forgetting that electricity tariff will be up soon)
(No air-con, No home theatre, No water heater ... ok?)

Phone bill (Telekom): RM50

Meals for a happy family: RM775 (maybe got to be lesser)
(3 meals on RM25/day, RM25 for 4 persons...?)

Car repayment: RM400 (that is because it is a Proton)
(A proton saga aeroback, 7 years repayment)

Petrol (living in city, traffic-jam): RM300 (that is because it is a Proton)
(go to work, bring son to school, only can afford one car running)

Insurance: RM650
(kids, wife and myself)

House repayment: RM750
(low cost housing repayment for 30 yrs, retired still have to work to pay!)

Tuition: RM80
(got that cheap meh? i don't think so)

Older children pocket money @ school: RM20
(RM1/day, eat bread?)

School fees: RM30
(enough ah?)

School books and etc: RM100
(always got extra to pay in school)

Younger children milk powder: RM50
(cannot have the DHA, BHA, PHA one, expensive)

Miscellaneous: RM100
(shampoo, rice, sauce, toilet paper)

Oh wait!!! I have to stop here, so...
No Astro, no movie @ cinema,
no DVD, no CD,
no broadband,
cannot KFC, cannot McDonald,
cannot go Park walk during weekend (petrol expensive),
no chit chat on phone with grandparents, and etc...

Let's use a calculator to total up... WALAO EH! Shit! RM3,405 already...
EPF belum potong, income tax lagi........

How to survive lah tuan-tuan dan puan-puan sekalian ???
Our Deputy Prime Minister asked us to change lifestyle?
How to change? Don't eat? Don't work? Don't send children to school and study?

Besides that, I believe in Malaysia population, there are millions of rakyat Malaysia which still don't earn RM3,000/month! !!

What is this? Inilah Malaysia Boleh... sorry .... it should be Malaysians Boleh because we're still alive and kicking!!

Our politicians must be mad!!!! "
Please forward and comment boleh or tak boleh. No wonder so many Ah Loong around lah....

[Knowledge: Baby] ECB3: FEEDING AND NUTRITION – Ensuring a Good Milk Supply

Looking after yourself properly is the key to a good milk supply. If you stay relaxed, eat well, and drink enough fluids, you will have plenty of milk for your baby.
  1. Rest as much as you can, particularly during the first weeks, and try to get plenty of sleep

  2. You produce most milk in the morning when you are rested. If you become tense during the day, your supply could be poor by evening. Go through your antenatal relaxation routines and have a lie-down everyday

  3. Let the housework go; do only what’s necessary

  4. Try to give yourself a few treats; relax with a glass of wine at the end of the day

  5. Eat a well-balanced diet that is fairly rich in protein. Avoid highly refined carbohydrates (cakes, sweets, biscuits, etc)

  6. Ask your doctor about iron and possibly vitamin supplements

  7. Drink about 3 litres of fluid a day

  8. Express any milk your baby doesn’t take in the early feeds of the day to encourage your breasts to keep on producing milk

  9. The combined contraceptive pill decreases your supply, so avoid it for five months after delivery

  10. Avoid spicy foods, which could affect your milk and upset your baby’s stomach

Note: Milk is produced in glands that are deeply buried in the breast, not in the fatty tissue, so breast size is no indication of how much milk you can produce; even small breasts are perfectly adequate milk producers.

In their own little world...

They're sooooo adorable! :)

I personally find this picture rather interesting! They're all in the same room, some sharing the same cot, but yet, they're all doing their own things... :)

Baby Janson is sleeping....
Baby Sarah is playing with her right hand....
Baby Reanne is trying to "cross-over"....
Little Rachel is... hmmm... not sure what's she doing, but she's doing something... maybe she's trying to help Reanne to "cross-over"! hehehe...
Little En Qi is crying for mummy!!!

4 Princesses & 1 Prince...

Five proud mothers with their little ones...

(From left to right) Dorcas and her little Rachel (10 m.o.), Sarah and her little En Qi (9 m.o.), MJ and her little Janson (the prince! 1+m.o.), Me and little Sarah (2+m.o.)... and Soo Pei (my sis-in-law) and her little Reanne (3+m.o.)

All of us new mothers have just celebrated Mother's Day for the first time this year, except for Soo Pei of course :) We're happy to have each other, sharing the joys and pains together as new Mums in church. Yep! 5 babies since August 2007 - May 2008. Talk about "being fruitful and multiply"! Hahaha!

Little Janson is the di-di. He has 4 cheh-chehs to bully him (or maybe the other way around! haha!) (Just kidding, JoMJ! :D)

Daniel, thank you for being our photographer! :)

ooo... BTW, noticed that most of us are bloggers too! If not us... it's our husbands! kakaka!

Peek-a-boo?

She just loves doing this at the beginning of her sleep... after which, she will look for the most comfortable position for her head and sleep for hours.

Yep, she sleeps longer hours when sleeping on her tummy.

That's good for Mummy & Daddy! Keep it up, girl! :)

The Return of GUNDAM!

Hubby's collection of GUNDAM!

Hubby's favourite GUNDAM character. He has 2 of these.
One is the "simple" one... and the other is more "complex"... Shown above here is the complex one. He says it can do more complex movement. Ask him details if you need any. Hehe!

Deal or No Deal?!

Last night, we made a perfect deal with baby Sarah. We told her that her three months of being colicky should be up in a few days time... after which, she had better behave, or else.... (pause).... hmmm.... we wont give her.......(pause)...... MILK!.... LOL!!! :D
When mummy asked, "Deal or no deal?" Baby Sarah answered, "Deal!"

Daddy and I laughed out loud and thought... what coincident! Let's try again... and again, she replied, "Deal!"... and the third time! LOL!! She's such a darling.... that was already late at night, after her 1.5 hours of crying... but it just melted our hearts seeing her respond to us in that way. We had a great time playing "Deal or No Deal?!" at almost midnight. hehehe...

I've been playing this game with her since she was just a few days old. Hahaha! I always make a deal with her about her drinking, sleeping and playing time. Though she may not understand what mummy's doing, but hey, i was having fun! And it's even more fun now when she's able to respond! :)

Being innovative...

I yao-yao Sarah with my leg (alternate legs if one is tired), and at the same time did a sewing and also surfing & blogging! hahahaha! Talk about multitasking... :D

Using my legs to yao-yao really makes a difference as my hands are free to do other things... hmmm.... will think of other ways to really maximise resources! :p

New arrangement for working days...

It's my first official day off from work today... well... supposed to be yesterday, but due to the raise of expenses, ie fuel, milk powder, electricity, etc... and also due to the pile of work i have, plus much of testings to be done to the sound system on Thursday, ie after rehearsals on Wednesday, i'm proposing to my boss that i'll be working 4 days a week now instead of 3, which was proposed earlier.

I did casually spoke to him earlier on Tuesday about this arrangement and told him that i will get back to him later once i've prayed about it... :p

so, yep... i'll be working mon-thurs now... MIL is ok about it too... as long as she gets her weekends off!

Is baby Sarah OK?

Baby Sarah's been crying all day and night again for the whole of yesterday - whenever she's awake that is. Really not sure what happened. Is she suffering from stomach upset? Wind? Other discomfort? Was it due to the breast milk that contained Japanese food which i had earlier 2 days ago? Well... we really don't know. In the end, MIL asked hubby to go upstairs and sleep while she takes care of baby. That was already about 1.30am i heard. The sarong was then brought upstairs to MIL's room.

I was already KO by 12+mn....

Lord, i pray that You will heal baby Sarah of any pain or discomforts and let her have good sleep today onward. Let everyone recover from exhaustion and let there be good rest for the whole family - In Jesus' name i pray, Amen!

Time waits for no man...

Once upon a time i was a little girl... and then i grew up to be this college babe (hahaha... perasan!)! i got married... got pregnant a few months ago and now, i'm a mummy of a beautiful baby of 2 months old!
Woaw.... time flies, aint it?!

Hmmm... and now, i'm thinking... there seem to be so much work to do... and yet so little time!
And u must be wondering... still got time to blog??! Hahahaha!
It's just a few minutes break anyway... so... no regrets to blog while "breaking" :p

Well.... there is so much to write too... i have lotsa topics to write about - accumulated since i started being a mummy. Why?! Well... topics after topics came to me while breastfeeding! My mind just cant go idle. Hehehe... I wonder whether that's a good thing or a bad thing... I'm just not rested, in other words! i have some unwritten topics (which are almost stale already, and which will be left unwritten... cuz the inspiration's gone with the wind! :p)... in these few days, i have some more thoughts to write, stories and pictures to share... but but but... cant seem to find time for it as well! aaarrrggghhh! it's so killing! i wanna tell the world!!! aaaarrrrgggghhhhhh!!!!

Tick tock tick tock... time waits for no man... boo hoo hoo!

[Knowledge: Baby] ECB2: FEEDING AND NUTRITION – All about Breastfeeding

During the 72 hours after delivery, the breasts produce a thin, yellow fluid called colostrum, made up of water, protein, and minerals. Colostrum contains antibodies that protect the baby against a range of intestinal and respiratory infections. In the first few days, your baby should be put regularly to the breast, both to feed on the colostrum and to get used to fixing on the breast.

Once your breasts start to produce milk, you may be surprised by its watery appearance. When your baby sucks, the first milk that he gets – the foremilk – is thin, watery, and thirst-quenching. Then comes the hindmilk, which is richer in fat and protein.

The Let-Down Reflex

The sucking action of your baby at the breasts sends messages to the hypothalamus, which in turn stimulates the pituitary gland in your brain to release two hormones: prolactin, which is responsible for the manufacture of milk in the milk glands, and oxytocin, which causes milk to be passed from the glands to the milk reservoirs behind the areola. This transfer is known as the let-down reflex.

Favourite distraction in car...

Well.... what da ya know?! This cute yellow-T is baby Sarah's favourite distraction everytime she's in the car. She will just somehow stare at it and sometimes "talk" to it and "play" with it!

I guess she's attracted to the colour! It may be her favourite colour for now... and maybe her favourite verse in the Bible??? hehehe.... :)
