Mum reverses car into toddler
KUALA LUMPUR: A three-year-old girl was killed when her mother, who was driving her car out of a car park in Desa Sri Hartamas, knocked into the child who was outside the vehicle.
Isabel Cheong died on the spot after suffering head injuries when her 29-year-old mother reversed the car.
She did not notice that her child was behind the car yesterday at Jalan 25/70A, acting city traffic police chief Deputy Supt Ng Fook Long said.
“The mother only realised she had run over her child after hearing her cries. She immediately got down to check what had happened.
“Passers-by tried to help pull the child out, but by the time she was dislodged from under the car, she had died,” he said.
The body was sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post-mortem.

i feel sad too...and really a scary moment.
I've heard or read of similar stories.
Not only our own child but the victim can be another person's child.
It happened to me once, I was about to reverse when a kid, well primary school kid was riding a bicyle and he almost hit the rear as I reversed.
So yeah. This case is a good reminder
What! Another case! Argh... it's due to carelessness. My sister in law told me that in Sin Chew paper today (Sat) there are few cases too. And the most gory one is the 3 years old boy died because the bus reversed into him. His mother opened the gate to fetch his eldest son from the bus and didn't even realised that his 3 years old ran out... then!... sigh...
Sad but let us take it as a lesson and hope that everyone will be very careful next time...
The solution... dont reverse your car! hahaha... quite impossible!
The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, but why use the mother of the child for the process?
Hard to understand sometimes.
It really a traggic accidents. Suddenly so many cases within two weeks. All victims less than 4 yrs old. So sad. My heart goes to the kids mum who going to bear the 'guilt' rest of the life. Lord, heal all the mothers from this traumatic moment as they learn to forgive themselves.
